Chess Openings Video Vault

The Chess Openings Video Vault is a collection of instructional chess videos primarily targeting beginners up to club players.

I have created a video summary of a range of different openings so that chess enthusiasts can study particular openings efficiently and learn the basic plans quickly. A common misconception about the opening is that it is merely about memorisation - whilst memorisation can take a player to a certain extent, learning the deeper ideas and plans behind certain opening variations is the only way to truly understand and master an opening. In these videos, I have tried to strike a balance between presenting variations and showing the purpose and plans behind specific moves. In preparation for the videos, I studied many recent games in order to outline new trends and ideas.

For downloading convenience, I have compressed the videos into Windows Media Video (WMV) format. In order to aid your study, I have compiled a replayable database with all the material in the videos in CBV format. There are notes and colour commentary for all the games.
