New Book on The Legendary Bobby Fischer

There has been much literature written on 11th World Champion Robert James "Bobby" Fischer, considered by many, including the highest ever rated player 13th World Champion Garry Kasparov, as the best chess player in history. "Bobby Fischer – The Career and Complete Games of the American World Chess Champion" is a new 408-page book by German Grandmaster Karsten Müller.

I have a deep respect for this author, having read "Fundamental Chess Endings" (4.5/5 stars on Amazon.com), which was co-authored by Mr Müller. In this new book, Müller analyses "every single one of [Fischer's] tournament and match games" with insightful annotations. This is "supplemented by crosstables of every major tournament and match in which Fischer participated".

Having read Müller's older book and seen many of his endgame articles, I can guarantee that this book is a thorough look at the attacking chess which the world fell in love with. Müller smartly steers away from the politics of Fischer's career and states that he wanted the book to focus on Fischer's chess.

To purchase products, I recommend Wholesale Chess. They provide the highest quality chess products at the lowest prices (especially for US and Canadian players). They even offer to match prices with other chess websites! Even though I live overseas, this is where I choose to purchase chess goods.

For chess opening training and repertoire maintenance, I highly recommend the software I use, Chess Openings Wizard. This software was approved by Grandmaster Peter Svidler (FIDE rating 2744 as of January 2010) many years ago.
