Magnus Carlsen, ranked number one in the world at the age of 19 and likely to be a future World Champion, played his so far finest tournament in Nanjing, China 2009. According to Jeff Sonas' calculations, he scored 8/10 against players of average rating 2733, giving him a performance rating of 2850.
