BlitzIn 2.7 (Chess Reviews)

BlitzIn is a chess interface that connects to the Internet Chess Club (ICC). The software itself is free, although it costs money to register for the Internet Chess Club (they do, however, offer a free trial).

I believe BlitzIn is the best interface for playing on ICC. It includes all the best features in a chess playing interface - timestamp, premove, etc. You will find most of the strongest players on ICC use BlitzIn rather than the default ICC interface "Dasher". However, one thing that Dasher does have is the ability to play against the computer for free, which can sometimes come in handy.

To purchase products, I recommend Wholesale Chess. They provide the highest quality chess products at the lowest prices (especially for US and Canadian players). They even offer to match prices with other chess websites! Even though I live overseas, this is where I choose to purchase chess goods.

For chess opening training and repertoire maintenance, I highly recommend the software I use, Chess Openings Wizard. This software was approved by Grandmaster Peter Svidler (FIDE rating 2744 as of January 2010) many years ago.

I give basic instructions on how to use BlitzIn in my "Introduction to Internet Chess Club" article.
